WHAT RIJO PARENTS ARE SAYING:

WHAT RIJO KIDS ARE SAYING:

TESTIMONIALS:

Hello Rijo Athletics,

I thought you might like to know that the 10-11 Bellevue West Little League team are the District 9 champions!  I know your team of trainers helped many of the boys on the team tremendously with building their skills and confidence and we are very thankful!

Please extend a special thanks to Jose, Marcus, James, Curtis and Ryan.

They are off to Yakima for their 1st game on Saturday morning in the Washington State Little League tournament.  Wish them luck!

Thank you again for all your help!

~ Lodi S. (Cole’s mom), Bellevue, WA

'I want to thank you for the many years of coaching and mentoring that Rijo Athletics Baseball has done for my sons.  This thank you is personally for Justin, who graduated from Linfield College May 2010 with a degree in Accounting.  Today, Justin is employed with Hunter, Hansen and Company; which is an accounting firm located in Beaverton, Oregon.  Though his college baseball career was short lived due to a shoulder injury during his 1st year of college, completing college and becoming a fine young adult overshadows all others.

I believe Justin's time and effort spent at Rijo's Athletics helped him throughout his high school years and completing college in 4 years at Linfield. The discipline that was developed while spending time practicing and working out at Rijo Athletics Baseball should not be overlooked.   The confidence that Justin gained while at Rijo Athletics should not be forgotten.  How to deal with the trials and adversity that meets all young adults should also be mentioned in this thank you, for there were many crossroads that Justin has seen.

James, Troy, Marcus and Jose' should share in Justin's recent accomplishments.  Please forward my appreciation to the staff of Rijo Athletics for a job well job.

Many individuals send their children to Rijo Athletics Baseball to help achieve greatness with the sport of baseball, but I believe baseball is just part of the lesson that is taught at Rijo Athletics.

Again, thank you very much.

'Rijo provides an excellent environment for athletic and individual personal development. The facility is plenty large, well-equipped and always spotlessly clean. It’s a comfortable place for athletes and their parents...almost serene. The Rijo staff members and instructors are experts and always friendly. Each coach communicates well and uses a variety of teaching techniques to motivate and help the athletes achieve their goals to the best of their ability. My son’s time and work efforts at Rijo have been valuable to his development as both a baseball player and young man. The Rijo staff members have been excellent role models.'

'As the Head Baseball Coach at Washington State University, it's important to me and our program to find the right players with the right attitude and effort.  Rijo Athletics is developing the types of players that we are looking for at Washington State University.  They understand there is a lot more than just swinging a bat and throwing a ball to becoming a professional or college baseball player.'

~ Don E. Marbut (Head Baseball Coach, Washington State University)

Jose' and the rest of the team at Rijo Athletics have been integral to the development of our players. Our kids respect them as coaches, listen, learn and then bring it to the field.  Their positive attitudes, strong work ethic and professional approach...model what we want from our players. I would recommend Rijo Athletics 'and I have' to anyone looking for serious baseball training, team or individual!

' Jose and his staff have been very generous and allowed me to use his facility over the past 2 off-seasons.  Rijo Athletics has EVERYTHING  I need to prepare for my professional baseball season. The facility is top-notch, and the staff is very professional and dedicated to their work. The Rijo Athletic staff provide a very positive and productive atmosphere for young athletes striving to succeed. 'We have loved having Drew at your clinics.  And most importantly, Drew has loved being in your clinics.  As we were leaving Redmond High School the other day, he said “I LOVE the training I get here!”.  That is huge coming from a boy who sometimes has a hard time being coachable from his dad and uncle (who have coached him most of his years of baseball).

I just wanted to share with you 2 ways in which we have seen such a great improvement in Drew’s attitude.  As parents, we often struggle with teaching concepts over and over with our kids and so feel blessed when other people come into their lives to reiterate what we have been telling them.  So these 2 things have nothing to do with baseball but are things that Drew has picked up from you and your team of coaches at RA.  His training has improved his ball playing but most importantly, it has improved his attitude!

The first thing was when he came home and cleaned up his room without being asked.  He told me the next day that you had told them to clean up their rooms.  Okay, so his coach can tell him the same thing his mom says all the time, but from you he views it differently!  When I went in the next day and saw a few things lying around in his room, he said,  'Don’t tell Coach Jose!”. I told him he was doing a great job and just needed to continue it throughout the week.  Thank you for your encouragement to him.

The second thing happened at recess on Monday.  He was having a race with a buddy and his buddy won by a fraction of a second.  He said his first thought was to make some sort of excuse about it, but then he remembered, “No excuses!”.  So he verbally congratulated his friend and said he did a great job.  This brought a comment from another classmate who told Drew, “Wow, that is a great attitude to have.”  I was so proud of Drew for his response and for making an impact on this other boy’s life.

The training that you and your coaches are giving has improved Drew both on and off the baseball field.  For that we are so grateful!  Thank you for your ministry!'

'Our son, Joshua has improved greatly since working out at Rijo. He has become a proficient infielder through infielding camp. He has become more aggressive and has developed good mechanics with hitting lessons. They have also helped him develop good mechanics and velocity without hurting his arm with their pitching lessons. These guys are great examples to the kids. They teach skills along with the right attitude. His confidence level is at an all time high and he has made the all star team two years in a row. We trust the Rijo Athletics guys to help our son get better at the sport he loves'.

'I have used RIJO Athletics for both coaches clinics and individual training sessions for my grandson. I have been involved with coaching youth sports for 20 years. I have seen many styles of coaching and I have found none better than Rijo Athletics. The programs and staff are geared to improving the skill level of any player. They were flexible in working with our busy schedule. The staff were always positive and friendly, but also challenged my grandson. If your player just needs the confidence to do better, they can help. If you want your child to play at a more advanced level, they are the people you need to deal with'.

'Rijo Athletics has been the perfect place for our son to develop his baseball skills and to grow as a person, and we are really thankful that we found it 3 years ago. As parents, we appreciate how the coaches are consistent in their instruction, how they expect players to give their very best, and that the coaches are all positive role models. Travis appreciates that the coaches are friendly and easy to confront, and that they really know what they are talking about and use the time really well to get a lot accomplished'.

'Our son at the age of 10 started working out at Rijo Athletics Basesball. He's almost 15 now. He recently had 8 tryouts for the upcoming season and was offered 8 spots.  Need we say more?'

' I brought my son, Gilbert, in for an evaluation with James earlier this evening and I wanted to let you know how happy we were with our experience. James was wonderful with Gil-gave him great feedback and advice and made him feel really good about his skills. I was so impressed with how he was able to quickly evaluate areas that Gilbert needed to improve and explained changes in a way that he could easily understand. Gilbert walked away from the meeting feeling SO excited about baseball and practicing his skills.

Over the past few years Gil has attended several of your camps and he always has a great time and learns so much. I really appreciate the level of instruction you offer, the variety of challenging and fun activities and most of all the excellent coaches. They are consistently enthusiastic, energetic, motivating and excellent role models.

Thank you so much for making Rijo Athletics such a wonderful part of our community. I look forward to bringing Gilbert to you for many years to come.'
