- A H.I.T. Player has fun, hustles, and puts his team before himself. Players pledge to:
- Give 100%. On the field and in the classroom. One without the other is not a winning combination.
- Lead with your actions. Let your work ethic be contagious. Treat others the way you would want to be treated, and respect your coaches, teammates, parents, opponents, and umpires.
- Be emotionally fit. No pouting, complaining, or talking back to coaches, umpires, or other players.
- Show good sportsmanship: No bad language, no making fun of your teammates or the opposing teammates.
- Thank your coach. Shake his hand and say, “Thank you, Coach” after each game and practice. Help him by carrying the gear and keeping the dugout clear.
- Be physically fit. Take care of your body. Learn to train and eat right. No smoking, chewing, drinking, or drugs.
- Keep your priorities straight: Faith, family, school, friends—there are more important things in life than sports.
- Be grateful. Tell mom and dad thank you for all they do for you.
- Smile. See a pattern here?
